Jennifer was very excited when she joined Swanson Signature Events in late 2020 as an Event Assistant. She quickly moved into a Lead Planner role in 2021, then Senior Lead Planner in 2022. When Anna Swanson, the SSE Founder and Creative Director, relocated to metro Atlanta to be closer to family, and Renee Peterson, the Business and Events Manager, chose to retire from SSE, Anna and Renee decided it was time to sell SSE. So, the summer of 2024, it was an honor for Jennifer to become the new Owner and Events Director of SSE.

Jennifer loves planning all types of events and making her clients’ visions become memories. Weddings, parties, social events, galas, fundraisers...she loves to plan them all! She was one of the co-founders of the Pooler Touch-a-Truck event, which has brought in thousands of attendees each year. Two of her past weddings have been chosen for publication. One in Southern Coastal Weddings, and one on the front page of Style Me Pretty. Clients and vendors appreciate her professional demeanor, calm spirit, kind heart, and meticulous organization of details.

She realizes she wouldn't have arrived here without the mentorship of Anna and Renee as she was growing as a planner, and she cannot do it now without the wonderful SSE team members. She is grateful for all of them! It takes a passionate team to reach the level of excellence that is SSE’s hallmark.

When not planning events, Jennifer can be found spending time with her family, reading, spending an afternoon in a bookstore, enjoying a cup of tea, or basking in the sun at the pool!

Jennifer Mullis

Miranda has been a Certified Wedding Planner through the CWP Society and obsessed with all things wedding-related since 2014. She was raised in West Virginia and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Honors College at WVU. After graduating from college, she spent time working as a wedding planner on the West Coast before moving to Savannah in 2022. Miranda is a wonderful asset to the SSE team, and she is currently engaged as well!

Gretchen moved to Northeast Georgia in 2020 from the west coast. She was born and raised in the magical Portland, OR, but has also lived in WA and CA in her adult life. She has called Savannah home since 2022 and it has quickly become a special place to her. Gretchen joined the Swanson team in May 2023, just before she welcomed her third child into her family.

Gretchen is a certified assistant wedding planner and has a background in mental health and fitness. The combination of her work has helped her succeed in connecting with clients from all walks of life. Gretchen is compassionate, joyful, and strives for excellence in all that she does. Her favorite part of wedding planning is getting to collaborate with the couple; hearing the vision and then bringing those visions to life. It is the most treasured gift when the couple experiences their dreams coming to fruition. She loves teamwork and values that planning is multifaceted with many talented humans all working together.

When she is not working with SSE, she is mothering three littles, coaching CrossFit, or at the beach with her family.

Gretchen Needy

Emmalie is one of our Event Coordinators who has lived in the Savannah area for over a decade. She started event planning in Cleveland Ohio for weddings, mitzvahs and Corporate parties. Before her event planning days she was a news reporter so she understands the importance of details and flawless executions. Most of her down time is spent with her family cheering one of her three kids on the baseball field.

A lifelong resident of Georgia, Jessica currently resides in Statesboro with her husband, 4 children, and labradoodle. While much of her time is spent being a mother, Jessica also enjoys opening her home to host dinner parties and coordinating events as a volunteer at her children's school.

Jessica’s expertise lies in thinking through all the logistics and problem-solving. While she loves the process that goes into planning events, her favorite moments are when she can take it all in and see the whole planning process become reality. When she’s not working, she is often chasing her toddler around or carpooling her other kids to their activities. Still, she loves to relax by staying up late watching a show, or reading. Jessica is so excited to contribute to SSE and to enjoy the privilege of working alongside a team to see a vision come to life.

Crystal has been planning events for over 30 years, owning her own event planning business for 25 years. She is also a professional organizer and thrives on logistics and design. As a classically trained harpist, her creative side is innate and you can count on her for original ideas and attention to detail. “My favorite part of an event is creating event designs and working through a detailed timeline!” Crystal is excited to be a part of the SSE team. “These women are strong, diverse, creative, attentive, and beautiful inside and out!” She has called the Savannah Area her home for the last 8 years.

Crystal has been married to John for 32 years and they have 8 children. (3 sons & 3 daughters-in-law, and 5 daughters & (almost) 2 sons-in-law). She is the author of a homeschooling book as she has homeschooled all of their children. In addition to her time spent at SSE, she is Ministry Coordinator at her church. In her free time, Crystal enjoys golfing with her husband, digital scrapbooking, writing, spending time with family and playing with her grandson!
