Lauren and Brett were going to get married. They planned their dream wedding for December of 2020 hoping that Covid would be gone by then. Unfortunately, Covid was still raging, and restrictions were still in place. Could Lauren still have the wedding day of her dreams even during a pandemic?
In September of 2019 Lauren attended the wedding of her friends, Katie and Chad, on Jekyll Island. She was impressed by the excellence of the planning and organization of the event as well as the smoothness and precision of the the details of the day. She discovered that Anna was the planner and that Anna and I coordinated the event together that day. Lauren says, “After attending such a perfect wedding, I knew I too had found the right people for my team.”
Lauren’s Concerns
We had the church, the reception venue, the caterer, the florist, the photographer… we were on our way to a glorious wedding day when Lauren started receiving messages from friends and family members who were concerned about attending. What protocols would we have in place to protect attendees from contracting Covid? How would we serve food safely? We worked with the church, the venue, and the caterer to do all that we could to make Lauren, Brett, and their family and friends feel comfortable and be safe.
Lauren had a dream wedding in her imagination for most of her life, like most girls. She had her groom, the love of her life, now she wanted to share their love with the world. Throughout the process during the fall of 2020, there were little roadblocks and disappointments to navigate, but we just continued to encourage Lauren to focus on the positive and pursue that wedding of her dreams. It was all possible, especially in Savannah.
Lauren’s Dreams
There were so many things on her wish list! She wanted a full catholic mass in Brett’s home church. She wanted photos in a variety of places in Savannah with the full wedding party. She wanted to dance with her groom in a gorgeous reception hall surrounded by her family and friends, and she wanted to exit in a horse-drawn carriage.
Lauren’s dream wedding day became a reality.
Her smiles throughout the day say it all. She was having the time of her life with the people she loved. Yes, you can have the wedding of your dreams during a pandemic, you just need an experienced planner to help you to determine your priorities and stay focused on what is important. You are marrying the love of your life; it will be perfect!
Lauren reflects, “Due to unforeseen circumstances and not as many guests and family members able to attend, I was struggling, but Renee kept me at ease, encouraging me to plan and have the wedding of my dreams… I was blown away with all of our details coming together perfectly. I had my dream wedding!”
Our very best wishes go with you Mr. and Mrs. Strickland! Congratulations!
