The four lead planners of Swanson Signature Events spent a few hours with Amanda and Jenna, the event team for the Thompson Savannah recently. We enjoyed a tour of the event spaces, restaurants, and guest rooms. Lunch at Bar Julian was delicious, and tne view of the Savannah River was spectacular!
Since the Thompson Savannah is just beyond the historic district, they have space: green spaces, parking spaces, and space to grow. The front lawn has locations for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception if you prefer to have your entire event outside. They event have the space for a tent along the water! The Thompson has valet parking for your convenience, but the on-site parking is incredibly accessible.

The team at the Thompson Savannah is the best in the business. Executive Chef Rob Newton, author of Seeking the South, created the signature culinary program for the venue. Just off the lobby, the restaurant Fleeting entertains visitors and locals alike. Chef Newton combines regional classics with global flavors to create unique moments influenced by the “fleeting nature of earth’s bounty.” Too early for dinner? Go to the top floor to Bar Julian for its amazing views and Mediterranean menu.

Although many brides choose to have their entire event al fresco, some want the rain plan to be the main plan. The Argyle Ballroom can entertain up to 400 people comfortably or can be partitioned into more intimate spaces. Looking for natural light? The second floor has a gorgeous sunroom with a built in bar and terrace ready for your ceremony or special event.
